Alípio Martins (Belém, June 13, 1944 - Belém, March 24, 1997, also spelled as Alypyo Martins) was a Brazilian singer, songwriter and music producer. Since his adolescence, Alípio dreamed of becoming a professional musician and becoming successful. At the age of 15, he ran away from home without money and traveled by ship, as an illegal passenger, to Rio de Janeiro, on a trip of approximately 30 days. On the voyage, he was discovered by the ship's cook, however, managed to reach an agreement with the crew by confessing his dream.
During his career, he received 12 Gold Discs, 8 Platinum, 1 Double Platinum, plus 5 Gold Discs by Productions, with sales of Discs, CDs and Tapes totaling almost 5 million units.
