Background
Dewey was born in Mideel. His parents were originally from Spherus Magna, but moved to Mideel after it became a part of Spherus Magna. His father worked as an engineer for Sector 7, and his mother was a researcher at Sector 7. Dewey has an older sister, Shelly Finn, who is also one of his best friends.
One day, Pewter City was attacked by a group of mechanical monsters called the Tickle Monsters. His father came home from work to discover that Shelly had been kidnapped by the Tickle Monsters. He was able to save her from one of them, but died from wounds taken from saving Shelly.
