As much as I can, I try to stay away from the word “perfectionist” when referring to myself, but I am definitely a perfectionist. I can see how that can be a problem, especially in terms of leaving room for improvement, but I think that it’s mainly a good thing. I don’t think just because someone is perfect does not mean that they have failed at life. For example, if your kid is a precocious genius, that does not mean you have failed as a parent – you just happen to have amazing genes! When it comes to myself, I fully believe that I am amazing, and I know that I am way better than most people. But I also know that I’m not perfect, and that I can improve. This is an important point for me to bear in mind.
I’ve been told many times by people that I’m not “normal” and that it’s really obvious that I’m different.
