What’s in a name?
When I was an infant, my parents were working in the oil fields and desperately needed a baby. They finally decided to call me Peter instead of my original name, which was “Penny”. I have no idea why they chose this name, as it is not a common name. I have a feeling that they thought they were being clever and being a bit more creative than they needed to be.
My parents have always been rather creative people, and have always preferred original names to the old fashioned ones assigned by the government, the church, etc. When I was growing up, my parents would often joke that they named me after their favorite author, Peter Drucker.
