Berkman was an exceptional athlete at Penn and was named team MVP in his senior year. Berkman was also captain of the school’s track and field team and won several track national championships for his sprinting performances. Berkman’s was also named the most valuable defensive back in the nation in 1988.
Berkman began his professional career in 1989 with the Cleveland Browns.
