Hector Faulkner personality type is ISTP, so I have to be careful to avoid being too much of an extrovert. My parents were both ISTPs, so I was probably influenced by them in this way.
I have recognized my own type for a while now, but I don’t really like the label. I think ISTPs are often overlooked and misunderstood, and I’m not sure why.
I like this label, because it is useful in terms of understanding my personality and how I function in the world. It is also useful in terms of helping me understand other people, even if it is a pretty limited understanding.
I like the “selfishness” part of this personality type because it is true, and it is what I most often experience in myself. From my own experience, and from my observations of others, I think that we can all sometimes be selfish in our own special ways, and sometimes we can all be more inclined to be selfish than others.
This personality type is my favorite, because it suits me best in terms of function and how it can be expressed in the world.
