Floyd is a graduate of Johnson County Community College (JCCC) in Overland Park, Kansas. She began classes in January 2015, but it took her two months to find a job. She had to move around to find a place where she could work.
“My first job was at the Independence campus,” she said. “After I quit there, I moved to Blue Springs to take a computer-lab job and then moved to Kansas City to get a restaurant job.”
Floyd said that she got the job at the Independence campus because she had a friend who worked there. She said that she enjoyed working at the Independence campus because she could get about one hour or less of sleep each night.
“I really like JCCC,” Floyd said.
