Arma Lepsius was born on May 16th, 1981 in Offenbach am Main, Germany. He is the son of a Frenchman and German woman. Armie had a difficult childhood. His father was abusive and used to beat him and his sister by playing rock music at high volume. His mother was mentally ill. At the age of 12, Armie witnessed one of his mother's violent episodes and decided to run away from home. He initially stayed with his aunt in France, but was soon sent back to Germany, where he lived with his grandmother.
From this point on, Armie never went back to France, and even refused to visit his mother. However, he still very much maintained his French roots, and traveled to Paris in 1999. He then moved to Seattle in 2003 to get away from the abusive environment he had grown up in.
