She's a strong person who can handle herself and even handle a lot of the bad things that happen to her. She's a fighter, and I think that's why she enjoys being a detective so much. She enjoys being clever and clever people have to have a fair amount of courage to say things that others would never say.
Danny is very much a person with a strong personality – this is really apparent when Isabel is dealing with him. Danny might be nice to everybody, but he has his own way of doing things and Isabel is very much like that too.
I think the reason that Danny likes Isabel is because she's clever. He's always wanted to be clever. He's always wanted to be one of the smartest people in the group, and he thinks Isabel is very clever. He feels like she gets him, and I think he feels like she understands him well enough to play the game with him, but she can also leave him alone if he needs to be left alone about something.
