DJ Hum, stage name of Humberto Martins Arruda, (São Paulo) is a Brazilian music producer, Dj, and rapper. Having started his career in 1985, Hum is considered by many to be one of the pioneers of rap in Brazil, along with his former partner Thaíde. In 1986, a partnership with rapper Thaíde was born, thus forming the duo Thaíde & DJ Hum. DJ Hum is also the founder of the rap group Motirô, along with rapper Lino Crizz, who in 2005 recorded the song "Senhorita" which became a huge success in the country. In 1999, he made his first trip to Europe and played at the "Midem" music festival in Cannes, France, at Brazil, New Generation event where the mix of hip-hop and Brazilian music was the sensation for an audience of 3000 people.
