When he came to the U.S., he spent a few weeks in North Carolina with his sister. He then drove through Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, and then stopped in Amarillo, Texas. He visited family in Oklahoma before stopping in San Antonio. He took a Greyhound bus from Texas to Lawrence and has lived at the shelter since Aug. 4.
Moore said that his brother and his father live in Lawrence, but he doesn’t have plans to stay with them.
“I have my own place over in Fort Worth,” he said. “I really like being on my own.
