I was born in 1942 in Boston, Massachusetts, which is where I spend all of my time now. There's not much to say about my childhood except that I grew up in the suburbs, and that I was an only child. I was teased quite a bit in elementary school about my height (I was 5'7" then), but I didn't mind because I had more friends than they did.
I liked math and science in high school. I was also interested in music, but not very good at it. I played the piano, the clarinet, and the French horn (which is actually more difficult than it sounds).
I went to Cornell for college (by the way, Cornell is an amazing place), and I did some things there that I liked.
