Joseph Hooper personality type is ISTJ, as I am. I think I know what you mean, but I'm not sure.
I think I am an ISTJ because I like being practical and organized. ISTJs are known for being good at details, and I am very detail oriented.
I also find that ISTJs often get overwhelmed by change. They must take things one step at a time, and I do not like to overreact.
Thus, when I was in college, I was very good at keeping things organized. I made a habit of doing my homework on time, and getting it done in the library.
I still keep a neat desk, although I have gotten a little more relaxed with time.
I also like to take care of others with my time, and have a strong sense of duty.
I have to admit that two things are probably ISTJ characteristics that I do not like. First, ISTJs often like systems that work well over long periods of time. This may be a good trait, but I like to try new things that catch my interest, and then move on to something else.
