They started out as backup singers for their parents, but soon decided to pursue their own careers. Dawn played piano for a while, but gave that up to focus on vocals. Jessie continued to take piano lessons, and Dawn started singing at parties and other events.
When Dawn was fourteen, her family received a huge inheritance from their uncle. The family moved to Florida, where they could pursue their careers more easily. Dawn took up modeling, as well as singing as a hobby. She has been modeling ever since, but has done many other things as well.
