This story begins with a medium in the middle of a seance. This is a very out-there premise, as it’s not something that I would have expected to see on screen. We’re immediately introduced to the main character and have our first glimpse of the world he lives in. It’s a world where people can read thoughts and there’s a medium who’s more psychic than most of the people in this world. But this is a world where some people have psychic abilities and others don’t. That’s where we meet Adam (played by Tom Hardy), who seems to be a decent enough guy. He lives with his mother and works at the local supermarket with his best friend. He also attends a regular college class and this is where you get to see him interacting with his classmates.
