My first introduction to Keiran was in the form of a fanfic I found on the Supernatural Fanfic Archive, “Beneath the Surface”. I read it for the first time in summer, 2007, and fell in love. I loved him from the very beginning – his wit and humor, his kindness, his intelligence, his caring. I loved the way he was with Dean and Sam, with Castiel and Bobby. I loved him as a hunter and as a hero. I could see him as a husband – sweet and loving, but also commanding. And I could see him as a father, a role that he played so beautifully in the episode “All Hell Breaks Loose 1”. I loved him and his character so much that I decided to write him as one of my characters in my first attempt at writing fanfiction, “The Life and Times of Krognol”.
It was not easy to write Keiran. He’s not a common character – most people know Keiran from the show.
