I have a very strong feeling that the Holy Spirit is deeply involved in me as a result of my work as a priest. I also see the Holy Spirit as a presence in my parishioners as well as those who have been in my confessional.
I am from a very large family where the children have been baptized as Catholics from birth. This has been a great blessing to me. As a result of this, I feel called to the priesthood even though I am only 36 years old.
What kind of personality traits do you like to see in priests?
I like to see priests who are humble, loving, and authentic. They should be able to relate to people on a personal level and be able to bring them comfort. I also like to see priests who are competent, devoted, and generous.
What advice would you give someone considering the priesthood?
I would tell that person that it is not easy to be a priest. It is easy to say that priests are the most important people in the Church, but its not easy to live up to that title.
