    João Ricardo (November 21, 1949) is a Brazilian singer and songwriter. In his childhood, he was strongly influenced by the rock from an early age, especially the French through the group Les Chats Sauvages and Johnny Hallyday, in addition to Elvis Presley. He knows Brazilian music through Miltinho and Doris Monteiro, records that his father had at home. In 1963, he got in touch with what would eventually determine his choice for music: The Beatles.

    He was fourteen at the time and was immediately involved in Brazilian music. Early he started writing lyrics for a neighbor's songs that led him to learn guitar to make his own.
