Jonah Hex personality type is ISTP, and while that is technically accurate, I’m kind of more of a Steve-Zodiac type here. While I’m not sure where the ISTP and the ESTP and the ISTJ and the ESTJ types fit into these pictures, I am certain that Jonah Hex fits somewhere in there. So, why ISTP? Well, for starters, I’m an ISTP myself, so I can say with confidence that I’m absolutely right. But the answer is much more complicated than that. Jonah Hex is an ISTP character because he is a gunslinger, and that is the only character type that immediately comes to mind when you think of gunslingers. Jonah Hex was one of the first gunslingers, and the way he described the course of his life, it was as though he was born to be a gunslinger. He describes himself as having been an outlaw since birth. He is raised in a society where people are trained to kill each other for sport, and he is only able to escape this society by becoming a gunslinger. This is not something ISTP people do. ISTP people become lawyers or doctors or scientists because they want to make the world a better place.
