Jazmine’s family is what I call “typical.” Her parents met in college and married right after graduation. They had three kids, all in quick succession. They bought their house in the suburbs back in the 1980s, when housing was still affordable. They didn’t have any money, but they managed to buy a house with a nice yard and a white picket fence, and they loved their home.
When Jazmine was 6, her father died in a car accident. He was drunk, and he went off the road and hit a tree head on. He had a blood alcohol level four times the legal limit when he died in the hospital.
