When I was in college, my roommate and I were both playing the game Myst. (Mind you: this was years before it became a video game, and long before GOG and Steam.)
I remember we were trying to solve the last puzzle. He was sitting on the computer; I was on my bed. We started talking about what we were going to do with our lives when we were done with school. He said he was going to do something programming-related, and I said I was going to become a journalist.
I had been fascinated with computers from a young age. As a kid, I would take apart the family computer and put it back together without a hitch. My parents never gave me a hard time about it. In fact, they thought it was pretty cool that I could fix computers.
I’ve always been a curious person. I think that if you’re not curious about something, you might as well not be interested in it at all.
My interest in computers has stayed with me my whole life. I’m constantly trying to learn about new technology, new applications, and new ways to use the technology I already know.
