I think the way Lanny's personality worked was his INTJ-ness would give him a kind of natural 'invisibility cloak.' He could appear as an ENTP and people would think he was one, but without the burden of having to actually be one. Because he wasn't one, he could let his other functions express themselves, and that's how he ended up acting as an ENTP.
(I think Lanny also played around with this as well. He certainly had a lot of fun doing it. He was an ENTP who didn't have to be one.)
Lanny has a great relationship with his shadow side, and appreciates it. But he also uses the shadow as a tool to help him be invisible. And it works pretty well.
