I put a lot of stock in the Myers-Briggs test – it has a lot of predictive power. I think it’s a great way to get at a person’s personality type, and it’s useful for understanding people you work with. It’s a starting point. It doesn’t mean anything about a person’s actions. But it’s a good predictor of career choice, career direction, why they do what they do.
One thing I’ve noticed about the Myers-Briggs test is that it tends to make “E” look like ENTP. Most of the people I know who are E are actually NTP (Ne) or NFP (Ni).
Why do you think that is?
I think the whole “ENTP” thing is overrated. Most of the people who are “E” are actually NTP (Ne). A few are NFP (Ni).
