David Sheff personality type is ESFJ, and I’m an ESFJ. For those following along, that means I’m an extraverted, sensing, feeling, judging, introverted, perceiving type, which is just a fancy way of saying that I’m a people person. So if you are an introvert, you will need to read this book with an extra dose of salt.
I was first introduced to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) when I enrolled in a program for young adults with learning disabilities. It was a 12-week program designed to help me learn the steps I needed to take to become more independent. The program included personality tests, which are now known as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). The personality assessments are based on the work of Carl Jung and Katharine Briggs, who developed the MBTI in the 1940s to help employers better understand their employees.
The first personality test I took was for the introvert personality type. I scored extremely high on it, which surprised me.
