B.R. Ambedkar personality type is INTP, this makes sense because he identified with the anarchic, humanistic aspects of the spirit of the Buddha.
His view of the Buddha was much more complex than the simplistic, patriarchal views of most Buddhists, who basically worship the historical Buddha as a Christ figure. But I could not tell you how much it would help to be INTP or ISFJ, because I am neither.
I have heard that the Buddha’s view of himself was INTP, but I don’t think I gave that much consideration. I thought he was an INTJ.
Anyway, after the Buddha died in 483 BCE, there were no more great teachers. And the tradition of Buddhism was left to the rulers of India, who continued to suppress it for another 1,500 years.
Then in the 6th century CE an Indian monk named Hsuan Tsang went on a pilgrimage to meet various Buddhist masters all over Asia. He wrote an account of this pilgrimage.
When Hsuan Tsang returned to India, he tried to get his accounts published, but they did not sell very well. So he revised them and sent them back to his publisher.
