He wants to show his worth to others, but at the same time he does not want to be seen as a burden, or someone who would be a burden to others. So the ISTP seeks to justify his actions with logic. He will make excuses for his actions, and will make things sound better in his mind. He will try to rationalize his actions, and try to make people think that he is making things up, or that he is being unreasonable. He will often want to control others, but for him it is simply out of fear of becoming a burden. He is shy, but he knows how to come across as strong in order to protect himself. He can be very cruel, but at the same time he can be very kind and gentle. He does not like feeling foolish, but can be extremely foolish when in pursuit of his goal.
