I’m not sure what it does to his self-esteem to see himself in this light, but he wears it like a badge of honor. In fact, he wears it so damn well that it makes me feel kind of bad for him.
He just imagines himself as every man’s dream, and I guess he’s right — he is. He’s a great guy, and I wouldn’t trade him for the world. But he’s also an excruciatingly boring guy to be around, and he can come across as smug at times.
He’s also, however, an incredibly smart guy, and he’s really good at what he does. And I think it all comes down to what I said before: he’s a romantic.
He just doesn’t see himself in that way.
