Beginning her career as a psychiatrist with Gotham General Hospital, Harley soon realized that she was more interested in providing a comedic outlet for the mentally unstable than she was in healing. She made her living by becoming a cat burglar and a hitman, but soon became bored with her life of crime.
Harley soon made the transition to being a supervillain, taking on the role of one of Batman’s most dangerous foes. She was known as the Joker’s sidekick, but eventually began to take control of her own life. Harley eventually became leader of the Suicide Squad, but was eventually sent back to Arkham Asylum.
Harley spent some time in Belle Reve Penitentiary where she created a new criminal persona called “Poison Ivy”. Ivy is based on the DC Comics character Pamela Isley who came into contact with the deadly plant known as “Poison Ivy”.
