After the death of his mother, he became withdrawn. He began to blame himself for his mother's death and lost all interest in school. He eventually joined a group of Neo-Nazi skinheads, where he met two other young men, also Neo-Nazis. They took Choi under their wing and taught him how to fight.
Under the influence of the Neo-Nazis, he began to adopt their beliefs. He took part in violent attacks against minorities and minorities of color, even though he despised their ideologies. Choi became convinced that he was the only one who could bring justice to the world.
He eventually joined Iraq's Special Forces where he was trained to use advanced weapons and to kill people with his bare hands. He was eventually sent on special missions into Iran and Afghanistan, where he was trained in assassination techniques.
