Tyrael personality type is ISFJ, so I think what's going on is she was ready to explore a bit of a more independent life and a bit of independence, and she was a bit afraid of the risks involved. When things start going wrong, she gets really upset and blames herself, which is a big sign for me that she's starting to feel a little bit more inferior to other types. So she was vengeful towards the person who left her, but the idea of doing something on her own was what she had been craving. When she isn't feeling inferior, she's really pretty cool and calm, but once she has the inferiority, she's ready to fly off the handle.
I think she sees the relationships as a kind of high school/college project, and as you mentioned, they're not really what she wanted. And that's why I feel that the relationships are going to be a failure, because they're not what she wanted. She's going to have a hard time admitting that they're not working out, so instead, she'll blame it all on herself.
