Chapter 1
A warm glorious smile spread across her face as she looked over at her partner, who regarded her with a confused look on his face. Where had that came from? Was she feeling better today? He knew she was still not feeling well, having only been back at school for three days and having missed all the tests and the first few weeks of the school year.
"Bella, what's wrong?" Edward asked her, concern clearly etched on his features.
"Oh, nothing," she said, laughing lightly. "I had a great time with you today." She looked over at him fondly, rubbing his shoulder soothingly.
"Really? I would have thought that you would have been lost in your thoughts," he said, a small smile on his lips.
"Not exactly," she replied with a laugh, clearly not wanting to get into it.
