Joe personality type is ISTP, so I am a Thinking Perceiving. I’d describe myself as a problem solver (as am I defined by my Myers-Briggs personality type). This is not a good description of myself, because I don’t think of myself as a problem solver. I think of myself as an entertainer. I like to create situations that are fun, exciting and interesting. There is nothing fun or interesting about being a problem solver. If I am stuck on a project, I’m not going to make my life more interesting by trying to solve it.
I am a very visual type of person and I have to have a visual aid to be able to describe something. So if I don’t have a visual aid I will have difficulty describing what I am experiencing or thinking. Yes, I can describe why I’m upset with my wife, but it would be difficult for me to describe what I’m currently feeling in the moment.
In order for me to be able to describe my feelings, thoughts and observations, I need to write them down in some way.
