Despite being a powerful demon, Quelana is a kind-hearted woman who loves her daughter and younger brother. She also serves as a mentor to the Pyromancer, Lautrec of Carim. She is implied to be knowledgeable about the demons and their ways as well as possessing numerous books on such matters.
In the Lautrec of Carim downloadable content chapter, Quelana appears as a spirit and explains to Lautrec that her soul is bound to his and that he must summon her again once the time comes to do so.
Quelana is first seen in the fourth chapter of the game, where she and Lautrec discuss the Demons and their history and powers. After Lautrec uses his pyromancy power to repel the Undead Legion from Quelana's domain, she takes him aside and explains to him that he must pray at the alter in the Demon Ruins for his powers to awaken. Lautrec rushes out to find his sister and finds her preparing to leave with Eingyi, but before she can go she is ambushed by the Undead Legion and killed.
