Henry Fogg personality type is ISTJ, the most common type in America. But I’ve been noticing a similar trend among MBTI type enthusiasts: ISTJs are the least likely to say they’re ISTJs.
I should point out that there’s nothing wrong with being an ISTJ. ISTJs are one of the most common type in the world (according to Jung), and they’re very loyal, good listeners, and good to have around. But the problem is that the ISTJ stereotype is often exaggerated, and people who are actually ISTJs often feel like they’re not really ISTJs.
But why?
According to Jungian typology, there are four functions (called “functions” in MBTI) that make up your personality type. These four functions are Si, Ni, Te, and Fe. There are only four possible combinations of these four functions within each type, so one can only get an ISTJ type if all four of his/her functions match the ISTJ function (Si, Ni, Te, and Fe).
For example, if an ENTJ is an ISTJ, then all four of his/her functions must be ISTJ.
