In her book, "Type Talk," Schaefer refers to ENFJs as "The Peacemaker," a figure in Jewish history who was a mediator in a feud between two factions in a family.
Schaefer said in an interview with the Tribune in June that she's been a Type 2 all her life and that having an INTJ or ENFP child would give her more insight into that type.
"I love the idea of using my insights into Type 2s from working with them in my office," Schaefer said.
But she said working with the kids is her priority.
"It's been fascinating and fun and I am so grateful for this experience," Schaefer said. "I feel like I am playing a role at this point."
To get through the eight-week program, the children have to be able to sit still and focus on something for extended periods of time, said Schaefer, who has been an instructor at Lake Forest College for the past 20 years.
She said she uses role-playing and games to get the children to get to know themselves better.
