I’m an infrequent reader of the Rationalist, and my interest is sparked when they do something unexpectedly stupid. When they do so, my interest is piqued. This post is such an occasion.
A few weeks ago, I visited the Rationalist’s Facebook page. I had been following it for a long time, but despite the fact that the material it produces is of a high enough standard that it deserves to be read, and despite the fact that they were in the middle of a discussion about personal responsibility and the ethics of belief in the afterlife, I didn’t feel motivated to comment on it.
Then, a few days ago, I found this new Facebook post: “Why God Won’t Go Away”. It was a particularly terrible piece of writing, and it made me wish I had been on Facebook at the time of its posting, instead of responding to a good-natured request from a friend.
