Blythe is the scampish nephew of Edward “Ned” Blythe in the Austen sequel, Mansfield Park. While his personality type is not in accordance with the Romantic Hero in the original story, the scampishness in this personality type still makes him a very enjoyable character to love and follow through the story.

Blythe is the same age as Edmund in the Austen novel, but he is still the same 14 years old boy. Unlike Edmund, he is considered to be an enterprising young man who has little patience for things that are boring.

Of course, Blythe is still a very young boy, but he is still a very interesting character to follow throughout this post-apocalyptic world.

When his uncle died of a fever, he was left with his uncle’s journal, which serves as an extra guide to the world of Pride and Prejudice.

Gilbert Blythe also interacts with Martha Bennet sometimes, but their interactions are hardly more than words exchanged at different times. While Gilbert Blythe does have some significant interactions with Elizabeth, they are not major events in the novel.

Gilbert Blythe is a character in Lucy Maud Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables series of novels.
