"My favorite thing is that I get to be in charge of my own story," Collette said. "I get to direct my own vision of the story. I get to do what I want to do, which is make good short films."
A few years ago, she made a short film about two girls who are best friends, but are also complete opposites. One is shy, the other is outgoing. And one is an artist, while the other is more of a tomboy.
"I think that's the beauty of friendship," Collette said, "That's how it should be, that you can have two different personalities and still be best friends."
Collette said she hopes to get her film out to more people in the next year or so.
