I think he is most likely an ENTP, based on the fact that he is so argumentative and clearly does not care about social norms, and also because he just seems to be all over the place with what he believes in. He is not consistent in what he says or believes in, and seems to just go along with whatever he is doing at the time.
I think it is important to note that he is not a complete sociopath, but more of a misanthrope. He doesn't really care about people, or even pretend to care about them, but he is still capable of being nice if he wants something.
I think his supposed sociopathic tendencies are more based on him having too much knowledge on the world, and being too smart for his own good.
Being an ESTP I tend to think that what makes him seem sociopathic is the fact that he seems to know everything about everyone, and whatever he knows, there are no secrets. He knows what everyone has done in their lives, how they have thought about things, what they have said or thought, etc.
