Silas personality type is ISTP, which is a Perceiving, Thinking, and Judging type. These are the dominant functions for the ISTP type.
So, how does this relate to my story? Well, I learned about these types in a course about personality theory. I don’t really like writing about myself, but I feel that this is a good test case. For me, it’s not just about the type, but also the way that I am wired and how my personality functions.
For example, ISTPs and Ss have a very “clean” approach to information processing. This is why they are good at things like mechanics and systems analysis because they are not hung up on the finer details. When they are working on something, they don’t worry about the way that things look or feel. Their attention is only on what needs to be done for the task at hand. This is why they are the “hardest working” of the 16 types, according to Myers Briggs.
As for my story…well, I definitely am an S, in a lot of ways. I am an engineer and I am very good at what I do.
