Lalaa makes her anime debut in Alola to New Adventure!. She and her sisters and the rest of the Alolan Exeggutor had been captured by Team Rocket, and were being held at the Team Rocket hideout on Route 1. After discovering that Lillie is the Guardian of Alola and deciding to help her, Lillie and Gladion set out to rescue Lillie's friends and bring them back to the island. Lillie and Gladion catch up to them in a cave, where they encounter Lusamine, who reveals that Lusamine's father, Professor Kukui, has been researching Pokémon telepathy and has been using his research to learn about Lillie's ability. After his capture by Team Rocket, Lusamine's father, too, was being held captive at the hideout. Lusamine reveals that she intends to build a new civilization in Alola, with herself as queen, and that she intends to use her father's research to make herself queen.
