    Daler Mehndi is an Indian choreographer, director, producer and singer. He is best known for his work in Indian films, particularly for his choreography for the song “Chand Chupa Chand” in the 2005 film Chandni Bar.

    Daler Mehndi was born in March 1973 in New Delhi, India. His father was an officer in the Indian Army and Daler lived in different parts of India before settling down in Delhi. He was keen to learn dance so he started taking lessons at an early age. He studied in Inderpuri Military School where he learned to play the tabla. He later joined Delhi’s Shyam Lal Sharma Dance Academy where he received training in classical dance.

    Daler Mehndi made his debut as a choreographer in 1994 with the song “Sajan Re” in the movie Naam Shabana. As a choreographer he has worked in more than 35 films.

    Daler Singh (born 18 August 1967), better known as Daler Mehndi, is an Indian singer, songwriter, author and record producer. He has helped to make Bhangra popular worldwide, as well as Indian pop music independent of Bollywood music. He is best known for his dance songs, voice, turban and long, flowing robes.
