He chuckles. “I’m also very stubborn,” he says. “So I use both of those qualities.”
His determination and empathy, along with his ability to analyze and correct the weaknesses of his supervisors and colleagues has made Sandy a go-to guy for the Navy. And it’s evident in his career.
He’s worked everywhere from the naval shipyards (including the current yard in San Diego) to the aviation systems command (CNAVSU), and he’s got a few more yards to go. But this isn’t the last we’ll see of him — and we hope it won’t be the last we hear about him, either.
“I’m not sure what my next career move will be, but I’m not ruling anything out,” he says. “I have ideas, but I don’t know what they are yet.
