In high school, he also took part in the debate club and the school newspaper, and was a member of the track team. It is later revealed that he was a member of the track team because he was actually the fastest runner in his hometown, and that he was a big fan of a certain anime character. He also comes from a family of middle-class farmers. His family owns a farm near the mountains, where the villagers have been having a hard time farming due to the lack of water from the recently opened dam. The villagers however, see the dam as a favor from the gods, and refuse to give up hope. He also has a great interest in gardening and growing things.
