Early life
Born on September 22, 2233 to a human mother, Carol Marcus, and a Vulcan father, Sarek, Kirk grew up on Vulcan. As a child, he showed a strong interest in science and mathematics. Kirk's father was a Vulcan ambassador to Earth during the 23rd century. In 2265, his father was sent on a diplomatic mission to Earth, and Kirk accompanied him to the planet. While there, he met and befriended another young boy named Christopher Pike, who was from a family of scientists, and became close friends with him. Kirk and Pike went on to attend Starfleet Academy together and graduated at the top of their class.
Starfleet career
On graduation, Kirk was assigned as a first officer aboard the USS Enterprise-B under Captain James T. Kirk.
