Sihtric personality type is ISTP, which ranks second on the Myer Briggs personality type indicator, and third on the Jungian personality type indicator. I’m not sure if ISTP is more of a type than an indicator: some people with ISTP traits may be more introverted than some Sihtric types. I think that’s the case with me, and that’s one reason I’m more interested in Jungian personality type than Briggs’s.
The ISTP personality type is associated with focus, stamina, and drive. In our fast-paced world, they are often responsible for keeping things moving along, often at a reasonable pace. They are often good leaders because they know how to motivate, organize, and lead. I think that’s a pretty accurate description of me.
My most enduring strength is my ability to focus on a task and complete it. I can focus my attention on a project with single-minded obsession. I can do this for a couple of hours at a time, and I can do it for weeks on end. This is a good thing in my line of work, but it’s not so good in relationships.
Sihtric is an illegitimate son of Kjartan and a Saxon slave. Uhtred takes him into his service after convincing himself that Sihtric had no loyalty to Kjartan. Keen to turn his back on his roots, he is tireless in his efforts to serve Uhtred, and becomes one of his most faithful men. With striking Danish looks, he makes a cunning spy. Sihtric plays the role of a messenger for a time, relaying a message from Gisela to Hild and Young Ragnar after Uhtred is sold into slavery. After Uhtred is rescued he is mainly with Uhtred in the assault force.
