Let’s get the obvious stuff out of the way first: Hakuba Gao’s voice is fantastic. I don’t know how else to put it. It’s like listening to a mix tape of all the artists you listen to. It’s soothing and comfortable and just… nice. All of her songs have a nice flow and flow nicely, and she doesn’t overdo it. Her voice is just the right amount of light and airy, and she doesn’t sound like she’s trying too hard. The songs all go together so well, and it’s just… perfect.
Gao also puts on an amazing live show. She’s able to connect with the audience on a more personal level than other artists, and she seems to genuinely want to be there. She’s not trying to be cool or anything, she just seems to be having fun with it… And when she does sing her songs, she really gets into it.
