Hiroshi Tsuchida (筆田 ひろし, Tsuchida Hiroshi?) is the main male protagonist of the series. He is nicknamed "Tsuchi" (筆, Tsuchi?) by his friends. He is often seen playing the guitar which he has had since childhood. His character is modeled after Toshio Okada who also has a fondness for music. He is infamously known for his strange methods of teasing others, which he uses to get back at people who he dislikes. He is also considered to be a pervert who likes to stalk girls in school.
Hiroshi develops feelings for Riko, the younger sister of his former friend, Asuka, who he had known since middle school. However, she is in love with her crush, Daichi.
Kōshi Sugawara (Japanese: 菅原孝支,Sugawara Kōshi) was previously a third-year at Karasuno High School; for the majority of the series, he was the vice-captain and substitute setter for the volleyball team.
