In the game, Ishikawa XIII is a member of the 4th Division. His personality is a very kind and gentle one, but he can be stubborn and hot-headed on occasion. Despite being a samurai, his weapon of choice is not a katana but rather a longbow and arrows, which are much more precise. He is also extremely athletic and capable of handling himself in pretty much any situation. He also has a tendency to have a bad habit of mumbling to himself when lost or thinking deeply about something, much like how he did in the manga.
In the manga, he was stationed at the base camp with the other members of his division, where he got to know Komaki and Juzumaru, who were just starting to fight with each other at the time. They soon became friends, and after Komaki got injured by Juzumaru, he quickly went to get help.
