Julia Krasinskaja was born in Krasnoyarsk in 1966. In 1987 she graduated from the prestigious Higher School of Journalism in Moscow with a degree in Radio and Television. In 1989 she worked as a reporter for Radio Mayak and in 1994-1997 she was a producer and head of the documentary department at the TV station “RTR”. In 1997 she became a reporter and editor-in-chief of the program “Vremya” for the Russian television “Channel One”. In the summer of 2001 Julia returned to journalism, when she became a press secretary of the Mayor of Moscow and at the same time she worked as a freelance journalist writing books and scripts for the radio and television. In June 2003 Julia Krasinskaja resigned from her position as press secretary of the Mayor of Moscow and returned to working as a journalist and author.
